Small Family-Owned Cattery in New Jersey Himalayan Kittens for Sale Persian Kittens for Sale
- Raising Exceptional Persian & Himalayan Kittens
- Welcome to Shore Kittens Cattery, where raising exceptional Persian and Himalayan kittens is far more than a hobby—it is our passion and our commitment. Located in beautiful Ocean County, New Jersey, we are a small, family-owned, CFA-registered cattery dedicated to producing healthy, affectionate, well-socialized kittens that become cherished members of their forever families.
- Conveniently located approximately one hour from both New York City and Philadelphia, we welcome visitors by appointment and are always available to answer questions before, during, and long after your adoption. Bringing home a kitten is the beginning of a lifelong relationship, and we proudly provide continued support throughout your cat’s life.
- Our breeding cats are registered with the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA). Pedigrees for our kittens are available through the CFA and may be purchased directly from the CFA by their new owners. Every breeding decision is made with careful consideration of health, temperament, conformation, and breed preservation.
- Because we are a small, family-operated cattery, we produce only a limited number of carefully planned litters each year. This allows us to provide every queen and kitten with the individualized care, attention, and socialization they deserve.
- More Than Beautiful Cats
- Our goal is not simply to produce beautiful Persian and Himalayan kittens—we strive to raise healthy, confident, affectionate companions that enrich the lives of their families.
- Over the years, Shore Kittens have found loving homes with families of all sizes, children, seniors, veterans living with PTSD, individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, emotional support animal owners, and those simply seeking the unconditional love only a cat can provide.
- Nothing brings us greater joy than hearing how one of our kittens has become someone’s best friend, therapy companion, emotional support animal, or beloved member of the family.
- We invite prospective families to read our Google Reviews, where you’ll find stories from happy owners who have welcomed a Shore Kitten into their home. Those reviews, photos, and updates are one of our greatest accomplishments and a reflection of the trust our families place in us.
- The Real Work Begins After Birth
- Many people believe the work of a breeder ends once kittens are born. In reality, the greatest investment of time, care, and expense begins during the first six to twelve weeks of life.
- During this critical developmental period, our kittens receive:
- Premium nutrition
- Daily weight monitoring
- Preventative veterinary care and vaccinations
- Grooming and hygiene
- Litter box training
- Scratching post training
- Early socialization
- Environmental enrichment
- Individualized attention
- Countless hours of love and hands-on care
- Our queens and kittens are raised inside our home as members of our family—not in cages or isolated spaces. Their health, safety, and emotional development are always our highest priorities.
- These first weeks often involve sleepless nights, constant monitoring, rearranged schedules, and significant financial investment. We gladly make those sacrifices because every kitten deserves the healthiest, happiest start possible.
- Our goal has never been to produce the most kittens—it has always been to produce the very best.
- The Shore Kittens Development Program
- At Shore Kittens, we believe every kitten deserves the time to grow, learn, and mature before joining its forever family.

- Why Our Kittens Stay Until 10–12 Weeks
- One of the questions we are asked most often is why our kittens remain with us until they are approximately 10 to 12 weeks of age.
- The answer is simple:
- Because development matters more than the calendar.
- The period between six and twelve weeks is one of the most important stages of a kitten’s physical, emotional, and behavioral development.
- During these weeks kittens continue learning valuable lessons from their mother and littermates, including:
- Appropriate play behavior
- Bite inhibition
- Healthy social interaction
- Confidence
- Communication
- Emotional regulation
- Grooming habits
- Independence
- Research and years of breeding experience have shown that kittens separated from their mother and littermates too early may be at greater risk for behavioral challenges, including:
- Anxiety
- Excessive crying or vocalization
- Rough play or biting
- Poor social skills
- Difficulty adjusting to new environments
- Litter box issues
- Increased stress
- Those additional weeks help create confident, affectionate, well-adjusted companions for life.
- Every Kitten Leaves When They’re Ready
- While most Shore Kittens go home between 10 and 12 weeks of age, each kitten is evaluated individually.
- Before leaving our cattery, every kitten should demonstrate age-appropriate milestones, including:
- ✔ Eating solid food independently
- ✔ Drinking water independently
- ✔ Consistently using the litter box
- ✔ Using scratching posts appropriately
- ✔ Playing confidently with age-appropriate toys
- ✔ Healthy interaction with littermates and people
- ✔ Appropriate grooming habits
- ✔ Healthy weight gain
- ✔ Physical and emotional readiness
- Every kitten develops differently. We never rush the process simply to meet a date on the calendar. We believe every family deserves a kitten that is fully prepared to thrive in its new home.
- Why Temperament Matters
- Exceptional companions begin with exceptional parents.
- Our breeding cats are selected not only for their beauty and health but also for their gentle, affectionate personalities. Because our cats are raised as beloved members of our family, they are loving, social, and people-oriented. These wonderful qualities are often passed on to their kittens.
- Whether you’re looking for a playful family companion, a calm lap cat, or an emotional support animal, we’ll help match you with the kitten whose personality best fits your lifestyle.
- Enrichment & Early Socialization
- Persian and Himalayan kittens are naturally curious and playful.
- From an early age, our kittens are introduced to:
- Children and adults
- Everyday household sounds
- Daily handling
- Regular grooming
- Age-appropriate toys
- Scratching posts
- Positive experiences throughout the home
- These experiences help build confidence, encourage healthy development, and prepare kittens to transition smoothly into their forever homes.
- Our Promise
- Every kitten raised at Shore Kittens is loved as though they were staying with us forever.
- We are committed to producing healthy, affectionate Persian and Himalayan kittens that meet the highest standards of health, temperament, and breed quality.

At Shore Kittens, every kitten is given the time, care, and love they deserve.
